Unibep wins the Economic Prize of the President of the Republic of Poland
On 23 November 2023, at Łańcut Castle, the XXI Gala edition of the Economic Award of the President of the Republic of Poland took place. Its aim is to support Polish entrepreneurs and honour the best. Unibep SA won in the “Accountable Business” category. Leszek Gołąbiecki, Vice President of the Board of Unibep received a statuette and a diploma from the President of Poland Andrzej Duda. “Business success goes hand in hand with caring for the world around us, and this is confirmed by the Economic Award of the President of the Republic of Poland,” said Leszek Gołąbiecki, Vice President of Management Board of Unibep SA.
“This exceptional recognition not only delights us as a team, but also confirms our efforts and commitments to actions aligned with the ideals of accountable business. Over the years we have placed special emphasis on developing CRS activities in Unibep, which have since evolved into a broader form of the ESG strategy. It considers not only our business goals, but also the impact of our actions towards the society, the environment, and our employees. Our commitment to social affairs is also a way to build bonds with our customers and business partners. We are convinced that in today’s reality, a business cannot succeed without respect for people and environment. And the received award confirms it and motivates us more to continue working towards accountable business,” said Leszek Gołąbiecki, Vice President of the Management Board of Unibep.

During the Gala of the XXI edition of the Economic Award of the President of Poland, awards were granted in five main categories: SME Leader; National Success; International Success; Accountable Business; Family Business, and in two special categories: Research & Development and STARTUP_PL. President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, also awarded an additional Individual Award and a Special Award.
“I have no doubt that we owe much of Poland’s development to the entrepreneurs. Thank You for your contribution to this development. Thank you for representing Poland abroad, for courage and excellent job,” said President Andrzej Duda to the awardees.
The Economic Prize of the President of Poland is awarded annually. In this way, the President honours companies that contribute to the development of the Polish economy, adhere to the principles of responsible business, promote a positive image of Poland, and serve as a model for other companies.
Candidates for the Economic Prize of the President of the Republic of Poland can be nominated by the most prominent economic associations, industrial organisations, chambers of commerce, universities, regional marshal offices, and local government associations. Unibep was nominated by the Marshal’s Office of Podlaskie voivodeship.

Unibep awarded with a Silver Leaf in CSR category by Polityka
The Economic Prize of the President of the Republic of Poland in the “Accountable Business” category is another accolade that Unibep has received for its past activities. In June 2023, Polityka magazine, Deloitte, and Responsible Business Forum have honoured Polish leaders in ESG as part of Polityka's CSR Silver Leaf Awards. Unibep – as a Silver Leaf laureate – has confirmed that it is an organisation that implements high-quality solutions and disclosing information connected with its activities in the ESG area.

The ESG Strategy of the Unibep Group
In December 2022, the Supervisory Board of the Unibep Group adopted the “ESG Strategy, 2023-2025 Perspective.” The document is based on five strategic goals:
- Limiting the environmental impact throughout the whole value chain, minimising environmental risks, and promoting activities that create opportunities for sustainable operations.
- Ensuring safe and satisfying working conditions.
- Building relationships and developing an organisational culture that incorporates the idea of sustainable development.
- Raising consciousness about universal human rights among stakeholders.
- Ethics in action.
