“The industry is facing a relatively challenging situation due to external factors such as macroeconomics, geopolitical conditions, as well as internal ones, including increasing competition in tenders and unfavourable contractual terms. These trends may reverse, and we all, as participants in this market, are counting on it. However, just as with the execution of a construction contract, this will certainly be a process that should be properly planned. On the one hand, as general contractors, we should thoroughly identify the key risks associated with a given contract to accurately factor them into the quotation. On the other hand, the supply of projects, especially from public entities, should be rationed reasonably over successive periods to avoid exhausting operational and personnel resources, as well as financial resources related to access to warranty and banking limits. In this context, further dialogue with the public sector will be key to success, especially regarding contractual terms, including contract indexation parameters. As a Group, we see growth opportunities through further diversification of activities in road construction, industry, and energy, as well as continued success in the housing sector. This will allow us to build a solid backlog of orders for the coming years. We hope that through process optimization, standardisation of products, and production, we will be able to quickly improve the profitability of contracts,” said Dariusz Blocher, Vice-President of the Board at Unibep.
