We are proud to announce that Unibep has entered the construction site for the southern part of the ring road of Bielsk Podlaski. The investment received the ZRID decision in February 2024. We are commencing work.
Let us recall that in February 2022, the Infrastructure Branch signed an agreement worth approx. PLN 63.2 million net, i.e. approx. PLN 77.7 million gross. The subject of the agreement signed with the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways in Białystok is the design and construction of a three-kilometre section of the southern ring road of Bielsk Podlaski along the National Road DK 66.
The ring road, designed as a single-carriageway road with an asphalt surface, will have two traffic lanes. Additionally, we will build roundabouts at the exits of DK 19 towards Siemiatycze and DK 66 towards the border crossing in Połowce. Key infrastructure elements will include the construction of a bridge over the railway tracks, a bridge over the Biała River with a wildlife crossing, and traffic safety devices.
Our team is taking on an exceptionally ambitious task. We plan to complete the second milestone, namely, a roundabout intersection along DK 66 with access roads approx. 0.5 km long, along with the road usage permit, by August 2024. However, the full completion of the project, which includes a 3-kilometre section of national road, three roundabout intersections, a bridge over the Biała River, a structure over the railway tracks, five environmental culverts, and many other elements, is planned for September 2025,” said Tomasz Gibulski, Contract Director at Unibep Infrastructure Branch.
“Due to the relatively short road section, the close proximity of residential areas, the intersection of the project by two bridge structures, and a large embankment, we will pay special attention to the organisation of the construction site and the works.”
The section of the southern part of the ring road is not the only road investment implemented by Unibep in Bielsk Podlaski. Since June 2023, Unibep’s Infrastructure Branch has been on schedule with the construction of provincial road No. 689, connecting Bielsk Podlaski with Hajnówka.
