On 7 September 2023, the company Unibep signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a leading South Korean general contractor, Hyundai Engineering & Construction. Both parties expressed their willingness to cooperate on investments related to nuclear energy and infrastructural projects carried out in Poland.
Unibep and Hyundai Engineering & Construction identified mutual needs in the areas of cooperation in the fields of nuclear energy and infrastructural projects. Based on this, the parties jointly acknowledged that they would like to explore the possibility of cooperation in key areas being pursued in Poland, including the construction of a Nuclear Power Plant and Central Airport, as well as the development of the Smart City project. The agreement also considers cooperation in any other potential area that the parties might deem interesting in the future.
During the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding, Unibep was represented by Przemysław Janiszewski, Member of the Management Board and Director of Power & Industry Construction. The company Hyundai Engineering & Construction was represented by Hyung-Hwan Park, serving as Regional Director for Europe and North Africa.
“The aim of these agreement is to establish a strong partnership that will enable Unibep to access the new technologies and know-how necessary to implement complex and prestigious investments in field of nuclear energy and infrastructure, the realisation of which will commence soon in Poland. Expanding the cooperation will also mean access to new methods that can be implemented in construction processes, contributing to increased efficiency and innovation within our company’s operations,” explained Przemysław Janiszewski, Member of the Management Board of Unibep and Director of Power & Industry Construction. “We are convinced that cooperation with an experienced partner like Hyundai Engineering & Construction, will allow us to strengthen the position of Unibep in the market,” added Przemysław Janiszewski.
