On 14 July 2023, the Korea-Poland Economic Forum took place in Warsaw. During the event, memorandums were signed between PZPB and ICAK, as well as between PZPB, Daewoo E&C, and Doosan Enerbility. The aim of these agreements is to establish the Polish-Korean economic cooperation with a particular emphasis on energy, infrastructure, defence, and advanced technologies.
The event was attended by representatives of Polish and Korean authorities and businesses of both countries. The distinguished guests were the President of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Suk-yeol and the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda.
Przemysław Janiszewski, Chairperson of the Energy Committee at PZPB and the Director of Energy and Industrial Construction at Unibep, had the honour to represent the Polish Association of Construction Employers during the event.
“The idea behind both agreements is to expand the cooperation between Polish companies in the construction sector interested in participation in the first project of a nuclear plant construction in Poland and Korean companies in terms of transfer of nuclear energy technology. It is a very important step for the energy transformation of our country towards zero- and low-emission, one which relates to the principles of the green economy,” explained Przemysław Janiszewski.

Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. is a Korean construction company and provider of civil engineering services, including the power sector in the field of nuclear, water, wind and solar power plants. And the Korean Doosan Enerbility is a manufacturer of, among other things, critical components for nuclear reactors. It is a member of Team Korea, the consortium established by KHNP, the Korean operator of nuclear plants, to vie for participation in the Polish nuclear programme.

The organisers of the Korea-Poland Economic Forum were Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), Korean Industry Federation, and KOTRA Warsaw.
