We will implement the energy sector investment on behalf of PEC Hajnówka heating plant

Wykonamy inwestycję dla PEC Hajnówka

On 14 October, the Power and Industry Construction Division at Unibep SA signed the design and implementation agreement for the task called “Modernisation of two boiler houses and construction of another boiler house in PEC Hajnówka heating plant”. The Ordering Party is the urban municipality of Hajnówka.

The modernisation of the boiler house for Przedsiębiorstwo Energetyki Cieplnej in Hajnówka is worth PLN 10,3 million and it is being implemented under the Polish Deal, the Strategic Investment Programme. The investment is to be completed within 15 months from signing the agreement.

“The implementation of this investment will significantly increase the security of heat supply for Hajnówka. It will also have a positive impact on air quality and greatly reduce the use of coal for heat production. The company Unibep, which will the contractor of this modernisation, is a large local company, and I am convinced about the professional implementation and service in the future,” said Mayor of Hajnówka Jerzy Sirak.

As part of the modernisation, the General Contractor will build a biomass boiler house with a capacity of 3 MW and connect the new boiler house to the current 5 MW coal-fired boiler house as a joint heat supply power system. The company will also modernise the fuel oil powered, currently idle, boiler house with a capacity of 2x0.55 MW. The modernisation will cover the replacement of burners with oil and gas ones, the preparation of gas supply connection, and the commissioning of the boiler room.

“As a result of the investment implementation, the heating network will be powered with thermal energy of four kinds of fuels, which will largely benefit the security of energy supply for the end user,” said Dariusz Link, president of Przedsiębiorstwo Energetyki Cieplnej sp. z o.o. in Hajnówka.

We remember that company Unibep has just recently concluded an agreement with Spółdzielnia Mieszkaniowa Świt, a housing cooperative from Ełk, under which it will build a boiler house using thermal energy from burning biomass. Unibep SA is also installing three oil and gas water boilers on behalf of Energetyka Cieszyńska heat and power plant. The task covers the implementation of required infrastructure in terms of fuel oil management, gas connection to the boilers and installation of the new source heat outlet.

“Yet another contract for modernisation and construction of a boiler house being implemented by the new business segment of Unibep, Power and Industry Construction, proves our firm commitment to become one of the leaders in this construction segment,” said Director of Power and Industry Construction Przemysław Janiszewski. “We employ a thoughtful step-by-step approach at Unibep. We have a strong team at the moment and a dozen of investments underway. We continuously strengthen our structures and prepare for big challenges in Poland and abroad,” he added.

As a result of conclusion of the agreement with the urban municipality of Hajnówka, the estimated worth of the Power and Industry Construction backlog has already exceeded PLN 800M.

On the part of the Ordering Party, the agreement signing ceremony was attended by:

  • Mayor of Hajnówka Jerzy Sirak
  • Deputy Mayor of Hajnówka Ireneusz Roman Kiendyś
  • President of Przedsiębiorstwo Energetyki Cieplnej in Hajnówka Dariusz Link
The General Contractor was represented by:
  • President of Unibep SA Leszek Gołąbiecki
