Official opening of the road DK 66 in Wysokie Mazowieckie

Wykonamy inwestycję dla PEC Hajnówka

Over three months ago, the national road No. 66 in Wysokie Mazowieckie was opened to traffic. Hoverer, last Friday, exactly two years after signing of the agreement, the official celebration of opening the road took place.

It might be worth mentioning that we implemented this task in a consortium with Przedsiębiorstwo Robót Drogowo-Mostowych “Trakt” Sp. z o.o. It was worth PLN 49.6 million. The entire investment covered reconstruction of approx. 4 km of the national road No. 66 and increasing the road load capacity to 11.5 tons per axle. We constructed a new seven metres wide road surface (with left turns at regular intersections). We reconstructed the existing intersections, constructed a new bridge over the Brok River, and constructed three new roundabouts.

Aside from the road reconstruction, as part of this investment, we constructed new pavements, cycling lanes, pedestrian crossings including refuge isles. We installed stone curbs and modern energy-saving streetlamps.

The ribbon cutting and the consecration of roundabouts

The ceremony began with a Holy Mass at Church of St. John the Baptist in Wysokie Mazowieckie, presided over by the Bishop of Łomża, Janusz Stepnowski. After the mass, the gathered guests met at the new roundabout joining Kościelna, 1 Maja, and Zambrowska streets.

The ceremony was attended by Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health Waldemar Kraska, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education and Science Dariusz Piontkowski, Voivode of Podlaskie voivodeship Bohdan Paszkowski, Deputy Marshal of Podlaskie voivodship Marek Olbryś, Vice-chairman of Podlaskie Voivodeship Sejmik Łukasz Siekierko, Staroste of Wysokie Mazowieckie Bogdan Zieliński, heads and mayors of local governments in our poviat, Chairman of Wysokie Mazowieckie City Council Marek Kajurek and its councillors.

It was the same place where the official opening was held of National Road DK 66 crossing the city of Wysokie Mazowieckie. Next was the consecration of the cross located on the corner of 1 Maja and Kościelna Streets and, subsequently, the consecration of the roundabout of Kardynał Stefan Wyszyński and the roundabout od Paweł Tadeusz Alfred Sulatycki.
