Unibep SA’s Infrastructure Branch completed the road investment on the Konarzyce–Śniadowo section

On 23 March 2026, the official opening ceremony was held for the project involving the expansion and reconstruction of Provincial Road No. 677 on the Konarzyce–Śniadowo section. The project was carried out under a design & build contract for the Podlaskie Voivodeship Roads Authority.

The project was carried out by a consortium comprising Unibep SA and PBK, with Unibep SA acting as the consortium leader. The total length of the section covered by the project was 4.373 km, of which 2.159 km fell within the scope of works carried out by Unibep SA. The total gross value of the contract amounts to PLN 54,698,062.92. Approximately a hundred people were involved in the implementation of this project.

"The official completion of this project marks an important milestone both for the local community and for everyone involved in the construction process. The delivery of this project required effective organisation, close cooperation within the consortium, and a consistent approach to carrying out the works in accordance with the agreed technical specifications and project schedule. We are pleased that, as the consortium leader, we had the opportunity to contribute to a project that will make a tangible contribution to the development of the region’s road infrastructure. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire team involved in the delivery of this section for their commitment, professionalism, and successful completion of the project,” said Piotr Lipiński, Director of the Infrastructure Branch at Unibep SA.

The contract for the investment implementation was signed on 9 May 2023. The construction site was handed over in stages: Section I on 22 October 2024, and Section II on 5 March 2025. The completion of the construction works was officially notified on 7 November 2025.

The project included the extension and reconstruction of Provincial Road No. 677, improving the route’s standard, travel comfort, and safety for all road users. One of the key solutions implemented during the project was a 2 cm thick anti-cracking layer, designed to enhance pavement durability and reduce the risk of future damage.

“The 2 cm thick anti-cracking layer acts as an additional protective layer for the pavement. Based on our experience from previous projects, we know that roads where this solution was not used developed cracks sooner and required maintenance earlier. When an anti-cracking layer is used, the road retains its durability for longer and is better able to withstand everyday use and traffic loads. This solution extends the pavement’s service life and reduces the risk of premature damage,” said Michał Rybołowicz, Site Engineer.

This is not the only investment being carried out by Unibep SA for the Podlaskie Provincial Roads Authority. At the same time, the Company is also delivering another major regional investment for the Podlaskie Provincial Roads Authority in Białystok: the construction and extension of Provincial Road No. 679, including associated engineering structures and the necessary technical infrastructure, on the Łomża–Mężenin section. This project represents another step in strengthening the road infrastructure of the Podlaskie Voivodeship.
