Changes in the Management Board and Supervisory Board of Unibep

Andrzej Sterczyński will assume the position of President of the Management Board of Unibep on 2 January 2025. He will replace Dariusz Blocher in this role, who will join the company’s Supervisory Board as Chairman of the Development Committee.
“One of the scenarios we discussed with Dariusz Blocher assumed he would take the position of President for the duration of key changes in the Unibep Capital Group. Dariusz Blocher, as the President, streamlined our business, implemented essential processes to improve the company’s efficiency, and successfully managed the Group during exceptional market turbulence in the construction industry, all in nearly two years. I would like to thank him for this,” said Jan Mikołuszko, the President of the Supervisory Board of Unibep and the majority shareholder of the Company.
According to Jan Mikołuszko, the Unibep Capital Group currently has clearly defined goals for the coming years, is well-prepared for further growth, and has a motivated team ready to manage an increasingly larger company.
“As a representative of the owners, I would like to emphasise that our intention is to maintain the current ownership structure of the company, ensure successful transition within the families controlling the company, and continue the business’s growth. The knowledge, competencies, and experience of Dariusz Blocher will be extremely valuable in achieving our short- and medium-term strategic goals. In the face of a dynamic and challenging market situation, his involvement in the work of the Supervisory Board will be of significant importance,” added Mikołuszko.
Dariusz Blocher: Mission of streamlining and development
Dariusz Blocher served as the President of the Management Board of Unibep since 9 May 2023.
“The Unibep Capital Group is a sound company with diversified business operations and significant growth potential. At the beginning of my term, I stated that my role would be to streamline processes, introduce changes in risk assessment, and strengthen the broadly understood controlling function. At Unibep, I met great professionals who were ready for changes. We implemented them together, and often faster than I had anticipated. Our goal, set in May 2023, was to strengthen our position as a profitable company at the forefront of the Polish construction industry. The results for 2024 show that we are on the right track, despite challenging and unstable market conditions,” emphasised Blocher.
According to Blocher, the current management and staff of the Unibep Capital Group are prepared to continue efforts aimed at further increasing the organisation’s efficiency.
“I am pleased that my successor is Andrzej Sterczyński. During his year of work at Unibep, he not only got to know the company but also effectively streamlined the financial area and communicates excellently with the market,” added Dariusz Blocher.
The last few years have been a very challenging period for the construction industry. In these unfavourable conditions, the Unibep Capital Group not only improved its results but also brought to an end many unprofitable contracts. The company has proven its readiness for further changes, which are crucial for achieving success. Dariusz Blocher, as a member of the supervisory board, will support the development of the organisation from his new position.
Andrzej Sterczyński: New challenges
Andrzej Sterczyński joined the Unibep Capital Group on 2 January 2024 as Chief Financial Officer. Since 20 February 2024, he has been a member of the management board.
“Leading the Unibep Group is a great distinction and honour for me. We have introduced many positive changes within the organisation, and they are already yielding concrete results while providing a solid foundation for further improving our profitability. However, we still face numerous challenges related to the development of the company and its individual business segments,” said Andrzej Sterczyński.
The key short- and medium-term objectives of the Group include further improvement of profitability, rebuilding investment capacity, and expanding operations in new areas.
“We focus, among other things, on the development of the infrastructure construction segment and real estate development activities, as well as making a dynamic entry into the energy transformation process through the Power and Industrial Construction segment,” added Sterczyński.
Impulse for development
According to Jan Mikołuszko, the change in the position of the president may bring new, positive impulses to the Unibep Group.
“On the one hand, Andrzej Sterczyński is an experienced manager who has been active in the construction industry for 20 years.
On the other hand, he brings a fresh, often innovative perspective on the organisation’s internal processes. Starting from 2 January, he will take over the management of a well-structured company, with support from both Dariusz Blocher and me,” summarised Jan Mikołuszko.
It should also be added that, starting from 26 November 2024, Piotr Bieżuński has been a new member of the Supervisory Board of Unibep SA.
