Wooden Bridges Competition with the Unibep Group

At the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Białystok University of Technology, the Wooden Bridges Competition took place for the fourth time. Once again, the Unibep Group supported the competition. The accompanying event was the UnibepDay, that is three days during which the students had the opportunity to meet with Unibep.

The competition took place on November 21-23, 2018. Seven teams from all over Poland have joined the competition. The students' task was to design and then build a durable and economical wooden structure with a span of 3.50 meters in one day. The criteria for the appraisal of bridges are the load capacity and the cost of construction.

The material from which the bridges were built is wood from the Unihouse Plant Branch of Unibep, while Budrex-Kobi belonging to the Unibep Group was one of the main sponsors of the in-kind prizes.

An interesting accompanying event was the presentation of Robert Wysztygiela, the Budrex-Kobi contract manager, who presented the works from the flyover construction in Krasne. It is currently the longest flyover in Podlasie, because the total length of the flyover along the road axis is 619.80 linear metres.
