The symbolic turning of first shovelful of soil on the Łapy - Markowszczyzna road

The symbolic turning of the first shovelful of soil was held on 8 November 2017 for the construction of the provincial road No. 682 in the Markowszczyzna - Łapy section. In mid 2019 a high-class dual-road four-lane section of the road shall be opened, which is 14km long.

- I’m very glad that we are starting implementation of one of the most important road projects in our region. This is yet another big task which we are starting on behalf of PZDW (Podkarpackie Voivodeship Road Administration) in Białystok - said Sławomir Moczydłowski, Director of the Unibep SA Road Branch.

The project of redevelopment of DW682 in the Markowszczyzna - Łapy section 14.07km in length includes, among others, the construction of ring roads around Uhowo, Turośń Dolna and Markowszczyzna. The route is to meet with the future southern ring road for Białystok as an element of the planned Białystok - Księżyno nod.

Constructed within the project will be, amongst others: ring roads for towns, cycle path, footpaths and cycle tracks, acoustic screens and five engineering structures, including one six-span bridge across the Narew River, which is 168m long.

The total investment is over PLN 200 million, including over PLN 170 million of funding from the European Regional Development Fund.
