The Supervisory Board of Unibep SA has decided to suspend actions aimed at the potential sale of Unihouse shares. This means that the company specializing in modular construction will remain within the Unibep Group structure, with Unibep SA remaining the sole shareholder.
The company conducted an analysis of potential investor acquisition scenarios for Unihouse, and although there was initial and conditional interest in such a transaction, it was concluded that, under the current economic and market conditions, pursuing the sale would not be satisfactory for the Group. As a result, Unihouse will now focus on activities aimed at improving profitability and development, with a particular emphasis on further expansion in the Polish market, which has growth potential driven by incoming development-related funding.
“The Polish market is beginning to recognize the potential of prefabrication. One promising sector in this context is the military – we are currently constructing barracks in Tomaszów Mazowiecki for the Military Property Agency (RZI) in Bydgoszcz using modular technology. There are also growth opportunities in residential construction, including the Social Housing Initiatives (SIM), as well as in flood-affected areas. Under favorable circumstances, greater flexibility from decision-makers, and increased openness to timber modular solutions, this segment could see dynamic development,”
said Andrzej Sterczyński, President of the Management Board of Unibep SA, in a recent interview with Rzeczpospolita.
It is worth emphasizing that modern, innovative modular construction – which involves prefabricating ready-made building elements in a production facility and then assembling them on-site – offers numerous advantages for investors and end users, such as:
-
Shorter construction timelines: Thanks to prefabrication, the building process is significantly faster; modular elements are prepared simultaneously with foundation work, allowing for a considerable reduction in project delivery time;
-
Design flexibility: Modules can be easily adapted to different functional needs, enabling the creation of spaces ideally suited for uses such as education;
-
Sustainable development: Modular buildings are eco-friendly, characterized by lower energy and water consumption and generating less waste.
In 2024, Unihouse signed 11 contracts totaling approximately PLN 131 million.
