Good sales of flats propelling the results of Unibep Group

Nearly PLN 9.8 million of net profit (increase by over 250% yoy), with sales at the level of approx. PLN 307 million (decrease by 11% yoy) – these are the results of Unibep Group for the first quarter of 2021. The presented results are mainly the effect of very good sales of flats in our development segment. The value of company contracts in construction and infrastructure amounts to approx. PLN 2.4 billion, of which the three remaining quarters of 2021 amounts to approx. PLN 1.1 billion – wrote in the commentary to the report for the first quarter of 2021 Leszek Gołąbiecki, President of the Management Board of Unibep SA.

– Unidevelopment SA takes advantage of the very good situation on the real estate market, offering a wide range of premises on three markets: in Warsaw, Poznań, and Radom – adds the company's president.

At the same time, he stresses that this segment of Unibep Group operations is being constantly developed, because on one hand, it brings very good financial results, and on the other, the company still has not taken the full advantage of the synergy.
– Our general contracting is prepared to build efficiently housing estates for our developer, both in the markets where we already present and in new markets where we plan to conquer – says Leszek Gołąbiecki.

When it comes to general contracting, the president points out the large number of investments (nearly 40 construction sites) and segment diversification: Unibep SA builds in various segments of construction: from housing estates, through projects in industrial construction, up to investments received under public procurement.

– As a general contractor of the investment, we have a solid order portfolio - currently it makes approx. PLN 1 billion, but we constantly focus on active acquisition in variety of segments of non-residential construction – says Leszek Gołąbiecki.

He stresses that investments implemented abroad, on the Belarusian and Ukrainian markets, achieved the financial results in line with the assumptions. – The most important is that the funding of all investments carried out by Unibep SA in the East is secured by Polish banks, and the loans of our investors are insured with KUKE. Currently, our main goal when it comes to export of services, is to receive valuable contracts, mainly on the Ukrainian market – adds the president.

The infrastructure segment, despite unfavourable weather conditions in 1Q 2021 and lower year over year sales, showed a positive financial result for this period.

– We signed two agreements for construction the S 19 expressway sections in Podlaskie voivodship: the Ploski - Haćki section, which will implement independently (with our company Budrex), and the Krynice – Dobrzyniewo – Białystok West section to be implemented in consortium with PORR SA. We have a good portfolio of orders in this segment, approx. PLN 880 million for the three quarters of 2021 and subsequent years, however the implementation of the above-mentioned two sections of S19 will be of paramount importance – asserts Leszek Gołąbiecki.

He also adds that both the Infrastructure Branch and Budrex Sp. z o.o., the company of Unibep Group building viaducts, bridges, and other engineering structures - intend to take advantage of the increase in number of large infrastructure investments in Podlaskie voivodeship.

From the beginning of 2021, Unihouse SA, the company producing multi-family buildings in modular wooden technology, has signed some new agreements. Most of them pertain to Norway, which is our key market. They are approx. PLN 120 million worth. The entire portfolio of the company's orders for the remaining quarters of 2021 and subsequent years is approx. PLN 280 million.

– We are constantly trying to acquire contracts on Scandinavian markets (Norway, Sweden), as well as on German and Polish markets. The market of our western neighbour is of particular interest to us, as there already are special programmes supporting energy-saving construction, including wooden construction – says the president of Unibep SA.

He also highlights the fact that it was Unihouse that has signed the first contract in the public-private partnership formula in Poland. – We will build 44 council flats for the municipality of Małkinia Górna. The building will be constructed in modular wooden technology. I am sure that the experience we have gained in the order acquisition process will allow us to develop this segment of our business in the near future – he adds.

The main objectives of Unibep Group for the coming months are timely execution of all contracts, ensuring the highest quality, financial stability of the company, building a solid portfolio of orders in each segment, improving the efficiency of business, efficient human resources management, and caring for the health and safety of our employees.

– All these objectives contribute to constant and purposeful development of Unibep Group –concludes Leszek Gołąbiecki.
