A subsequent stage of Jabłoniowa Aleja investment in Choroszcz implemented by Unihouse SA on behalf of the company Polskie Domy Drewniane has been completed. All houses have been assembled leaving the construction team with finishing works and connection of installations. On this occasion, a topping out took place.
The investment consists of ten semi-detached houses and one commercial facility, all of which were made in panel technology, which allowed to significantly reduce both the duration of the entire investment, as well as financial and environmental costs.
– The topping out has a symbolic meaning. It is an opportunity to express gratitude to investors, contractors, designers, and other people involved in the construction. It is also a good time to summarise the entire project. Joint celebration with the invited guests was not possible due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we hope to meet at the closing of the entire investment – says Marcin Gołębiewski, President of Unihouse SA, a company belonging to the Unibep Group.
On the occasion of the assembly of the last building in Choroszcz, a topping out, that is a wreath decorated with colourful ribbons, was placed on the top of one of the buildings. The topping out is a tradition which is supposed to bring good luck. Some people still believe that its absence might bring bad luck to the building and its owners.
– The mission of our company is to promote wooden construction and facilitate access to high-quality housing at a good price. Contemporary wooden construction offers a number of advantages that other construction methods cannot provide. The main advantage of this technology is its ecological aspect. A large part of construction works of buildings in Choroszcz, which is the entire prefabrication process, is performed at the Unihouse factory. It is directly reflected in excellent precision, shorter construction time, reduction of environmental costs, energy consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions. Timber-frame houses respond to challenges posed by climate changes the construction industry is facing. We should keep in mind that a cubic metre of wood absorbs a ton of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere – says Tomasz Szlązak, President of the Management Board of Polskie Domy Drewniane SA
The housing estate will have rainwater tanks for watering its green areas. Each flat will be equipped with mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (recuperation). The roofs of buildings will be adapted for installation of 5 kW of photovoltaic panels. It all will result in lower maintenance costs.
The flats will be officially available for purchase in June, and transfer for use of the entire investment is scheduled for the third quarter of 2021.
