TopBuilder is one of the most prestigious awards on the Polish construction market. It is an award given for the highest quality products, novelties and innovations, including proven material, technological and design solutions.
It is also awarded for design, development, and contracting services, as well as consulting and providing modern tools improving management of companies and investments. It might be also presented for investment in the construction industry and construction works of distinguished quality and design – often for creating a timeless form, employing modern quality material, or for implementing green solutions. The awarded investments build the quality of urban space they are located in. Well, this is how the organisers explain the principles of granting awards.
So, what did the editorial office of Builder write about the LivinnX hall of residence?
“Excellent design, outstanding quality of the applied solutions and plenty of amenities – there are, among others, specially arranged areas for learning and entertainment, a large, shared kitchen, a 24-hour gym, a sauna, a yoga room, a climbing wall and an art studio. There is a terrace with a jacuzzi on the roof of the building. There are also 290 residential units in the layout for one, two, three or four residents. The flats have kitchens, bathrooms, and separate bedrooms. Sounds like a five-star hotel. Well, it is a student residence, though. This is LivinnX in Krakow”, we read in the article “LivinnX in Krakow – passion and knowledge”.
The works on the investment took from 22 March 2018 to 17 September 2019. Unibep SA, as the general contractor, was responsible for the following construction works:
- shell construction – demolition works of staircases and parts of prefabricated ceilings, jet-grouting soil reinforcement under a part of the building, reinforcement of steel structures, concrete encasing of steel columns to optimise and increase the stability of the structure, replacement of some prefabricated ceilings with ribbed ones, and construction of new staircases with elevator shafts.
- finishing works – installing fire protection systems based on the wool-cement hydrodynamic system and intumescent coating system, on the steel structure in the amount of approx. 7,500 m2, clinker brick elevation in the amount of approx. 6 500 m2, putting approx. 40,000 m2 of plasterboard walls, completion of floors and finish with porcelain tiles, vinyl panels, artificial grass, decking boards, terrace tiles on adjustable support pedestals, carpet flooring, Barlinek wood flooring, epoxy resin works, wall tiles, delivery and installation of window sills, mirrors, indoor plumbing works, and lighting fixtures.
- The external walls of the building were made in cooperation with Unihouse SA as prefabricated elements. The assembly was completed in the Unihouse factory. Windows were also installed there. After the walls were delivered to the construction site, they were mounted like wall panels on specially prepared steel brackets being a frame for mullion and transom facade. The facade was made of clinker tiles. Part of the facade is ventilated. Trespa and Equitone panels provide elegant finish.
- sanitary works, including central heating, technological heat, water, and sewage installation (sanitary and rainwater with connections), installation of mechanical ventilation and air conditioning, installation of smoke exhaust ventilation, and hydrant installation.
- teletechnical and electrical works, including MV connection, transformer station, high-current installation throughout the building, SAP fire alarm system, access control system, CCTV installation, and BMS installation.
- As for external works, we had pavements done, access roads and parking spaces, and the whole lighting grid, too.
