The commentary of president of Unibep SA on the results for the Q3 of 2020
Unibep Group for the three quarters of 2020 has generated PLN 30.6 million of net profit, a result which is y/y better by approx. 50%
This result was achieved with sales at the level of approx. PLN 1.2 billion, i.e., comparable to 2019 (the difference is approx. 2%). The book of orders comprises orders in construction and infrastructure segments for the amount of approx. PLN 2 billion (including approx. PLN 400 million for the Q4 of 2020).
– Such a level of orders ensures effective work for the entire Unibep Group in the forthcoming year – wrote Leszek Marek Gołąbiecki, President of the Management Board of Unibep SA in a letter to shareholders.
The report for the Q3 2020 of Unibep Group was published on 30 November 2020.
– Residential and non-residential construction in Poland is currently implementing over 40 agreements – not only in Warsaw (this is our most important market), but also in Łódź, Kraków, Poznań, and in several places in Podlaskie voivodeship – added the president. – In the segment of general contracting, we have a solid backlog of orders. It is worth, for the last quarter of 2020 and the following years, approx. PLN 1.2 billion. Effective acquisition allowed us to sign agreements in the third and fourth quarters of 2020 worth approx. PLN 450 million.
– The sales of Unidevelopment SA in the period from January to October 2020 are at a similar level to that in 2019. However, the market distribution of its operations slightly differs year to year – appraised the president in his analysis of the development segment.
This is related to the introduction of a wider offer on the Poznań market (Fama Jeżyce – a long-term and multi-stage project for about two and a half thousands of apartments and Bookowska 18) and in Radom (Idea Omega). In the Warsaw market, we expect an increase in sales after introduction of new investments (Coopera estate and Ursa Sky).
The president pointed out that the infrastructure segment significantly improved its financial results this year.
– We complete all agreements in line with their schedules, we conduct active acquisition at all local government levels (of voivodship, poviat, and gmina) in north-eastern Poland, and we also participate in tenders for roads managed by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways. In the recent months we have signed agreement worth approx. PLN 120 million – added the president.
– I would like to add that we keep a close watch on the domestic and foreign markets, and the dynamic changes taking place there, involving, among others, the COVID-19 pandemic – summed up Leszek Gołąbiecki. – Further restrictions introduced in Europe do not make the work in construction industry easier. Therefore, as Unibep Group, we must be flexible and prepared for variety of activities.
