Fama Jeżyce - cornerstone laid down

Investors, the general contractor and invited guests took part in the ceremonial laying of the cornerstone for the construction of Fama Jeżyce - the largest investment under the Nowe Jeżyce, a city revitalisation concept for this district. Ultimately, on an 8-hectare plot of land, which made the premises of the former Wiepofama factory, there will be built around 2.5 thousand m2 of apartments with the accompanying infrastructure. The first stage of the investment will be ready at the end of 2021.

The housing estate Osiedle Fama Jeżyce is a project implemented by Fama Development, whose investors are Unidevelopment SA and Wiepofama SA. Implementation of the investment, project supervision, sales and marketing services, and project management, they all have been entrusted to Monday Development - a company which belongs to the Unidevelopment group. The laying of the foundation stone for one of the largest development investments in Poznań was accompanied by the official signing of the foundation act. Their signatures put: Deputy Mayor of the City of Poznań, President of the Supervisory Board of Unibep SA, President of the Management Board of Unibep SA, President of the Management Board of Unidevelopment SA, Main Shareholder of Wiepofama SA, President of the Management Board of Wiepofama SA and Co-founder of the architectural office HRA Architekci. The document was enclosed in a capsule and symbolically laid into the ceiling of the first building.

- Only two years ago, we started cooperation with the Wiepofama Group, seeing the city-forming potential in the area of the former production plant. Today all of us become witnesses of an extremely momentous event, watching the walls of one of the biggest housing projects in Poznań grow - says Zbigniew Gościcki, President of the Management Board of Unidevelopment SA - Within the next few years, this post-industrial area will turn into a new, vibrant part of the city. We are proud that we can add a new part to the history of the capital of Wielkopolska - he adds.

The general contractor for the investment is Unibep - one of the biggest construction companies in Poland. Creation of a comprehensive land development concept of the premises of former Wiepofama was entrusted to the architectural office of HRA Architekci. Its task was to design not only a place to live, but also a space for building neighbourly relations.

Fama Jeżyce will constitute a well-thought-out block development, referring to the historical urban fabric of Jeżyce, and the delicately rounded corners of the buildings and balconies will refer to the interwar development of the district.

As part of the first stage of Fama Jeżyce, two buildings with a total of 251 apartments will be built. The bigger one will surround the courtyard, and the smaller one - cosier and of a higher standard - will be built right next to it. The offer includes a large variety of premises layouts: from studios to spacious five-bedroom apartments. Many amenities, such as a spacious bicycle storage room, a self-service bicycle repair facility, or a place for charging electric cars will also be built in the investment area. It is also important that already in the first stage of construction the investment will be connected to Kościelna Street - one of the most recognisable streets in Jeżyce. It leads directly to one of the most beautiful  green area in Poznań - Park Sołacki. Ultimately, the estate will also be connected to Dąbrowskiego Street, ensuring efficient communication with the city centre.

It is worth noting that Fama Jeżyce will restore to the city areas of former Wiepofama factory, located in the heart of the district and previously inaccessible to residents of Poznań. The estate will be built reflecting the spirit of Jeżyce, drawing on what is best in the district - historical architecture, extraordinary places, and cultural and artistic events. In addition to residential buildings, it will be filled with new roads, squares and an attractive promenade crowned with a city square. A new city park will also be created nearby.

The investor pays great attention to the strong local roots of this area. For this reason, he invited to cooperation the street artists operating in Jeżyce, that is Noriaki and Bart Sucharski. It was them who created the unique commemorative graphic, which received guests who came to the event. In this symbolic way, the investor announces introduction of art into the space of the housing estate.
