Breaking the ground on the road from Bialystok to Suprasl

On 22 June, the first shovelful of soil was symbolically turned on one of the most-important roads in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. The investment value is about PLN 120 million, which is being mostly co-financed from the Polska Wschodnia programme.

“The reconstruction of this road is vital for the development of the region, particularly for the Suprasl health resort. I’m happy that the road will be wider and safer” , said Mayor of Suprasl Radoslaw Dobrowolski.

The renovated section is 16 km long. On the Bialystok – Nowodworce section the road will be two lanes in each direction, and will continue as a fairly wide single-lane road. The ring road round Ogrodniczki will be built, and in Krasne there will be an impressive flyover 15 metres high and over one and a half kilometres long. There will also be new pavements and a wide bicycle path.
“I’m pleased that we have succeeded in creating a consortium of local companies”, said Jerzy Wójcik, Vice-President of the PEUiM board of directors.

The building works are being carried out by a consortium of companies: Trakcja PRKiL SA (the leader), UNIBEP SA, Budrex-Kobi Sp. z o.o., and Przedsiębiorstwo Eksploatacji Ulic i Mostów Sp. z o.o.

The completion date of the project is planned for September 2018.
