Unibep among the winners of the "Building of the Year" competition

Domaniewska Office Hub and Słodowiec City - these objects made by the Unibep SA have got a prize of the first degree in the competition "Building of the Year 2015".

The final ceremony of one of the most prestigious competitions in the construction industry took place in Warsaw, on May 24, 2016. The competition is organised by the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians.
The Domaniewska Office Hub is a seven-storey A-class office building with a services part, 390 spaces in a two-storey underground car park, as well as technical and administrative premises. There are also outdoor parking spaces.

The building structure is located away from the street, which made it possible to create a representative entrance plaza.

The building is in the form of two connected blocks. Each of them has a spacious, impressively arranged hall, whose focal point is a modern reception desk. The dynamics of this form are emphasised by the special illumination of the walls. The building is equipped with changing rooms for cyclists and a shelter for almost 80 bikes. The passenger lifts, sanitary facilities, as well as some of the parking spaces in the garages are adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. The building offers more than 430 parking spaces.

The building area is 4554 m², the usable floor area is 37,023.50 m², and building’s capacity is 169,124.93 m3. All the work was carried out within 18 months.

Słodowiec City is a multi-family building with 10 floors above ground, including a service, commercial and administrative part and a three-storey underground garage. The structure of the building consists of a monolithic reinforced concrete skeleton in a plate and columnar layout, with a slab foundation located 5 m below the water level. The walls are underground diaphragm walls. It was also necessary to create approximately 1,400 "jet-grouting" columns. The building structure was adapted to dynamic loads resulting from the proximity of the first metro line (the tunnel is 8 m away from the diaphragm wall).

The external walls of the building are made of brick and fill the skeleton of the structure. The ground floor part of the facade of the building was constructed from stone, and the higher parts are in the form of an insulation layer with the use of fiber-cement plates. The building has 777 apartments and 799 parking spaces in the underground garage. This is one of the buildings with the highest number of flats built in recent years.

The building area is 9285.07 m2, the usable floor area is 33,409.00 m2, and building’s capacity is 295,855.29 m3. All the work was carried out within 24 months.

Both buildings were submitted to the competition by Unibep SA and the investors - PHN SA (for the Domaniewska Office Hub) and by Turret Development (for Słodowiec).
