Opening of the bridge over the Supraśl river

After 17 months the bridge over the Supraśl river and extended regional road no. 676 has officially been opened. Construction of the bridge took 9 months - from December 2016 to September 2017.

On October 17th, the representatives of the authorities of the region and province, the Podlaski Regional Road Administration in Białystok, the Church, the general contractor: Budrex-Kobi - the Consortium Leader and the Road Division of Unibep - the Consortium Partner participated in the celebrations.

"The bridge over the Supraśl river is a vital element of the communication track in our city. I would like to congratulate you on such time-efficient execution of the investment” - Radosław Dobrowolski, the mayor of Supraśl.

The bridge is located on regional road no. 676 connecting Supraśl and Krynki. Apart from the bridge, the investment involved the construction of a 1.5-kilometre fragment of the regional road, pavements, the retaining wall by the road leading to the bridge, the cycling path and passage for amphibian vehicles. It is a one-span bridge, 71.9-metres long.

Currently, it is the longest span of engineering construction in the Podlaskie province. The supporting structure of the bridge consists of steel, box-section arches to which a concrete platform consisting of a load-carrying structure and concrete, vertical beams, supported on crossbars are hanged. The construction is prepressed horizontally with unbonded cables. Vertical prepression is executed by vertical beams. Vertical beams are connected to arches by a hanger in the network system.

"The construction work went rather smoothly. The technology of this bridge construction provided us with great professional experience. We are grateful to the local citizens for their help and patience" - Piotr Andrzejuk, the manager of the bridge construction of Budrex-Kobi.
