Port Praski wins 2nd prize in the “Construction of 2016” competition

All works were completed within 26 months. Unibep was the general contractor on this investment.

The building is composed of two parts - “Latarnia” and “Port”. It has eight overground storeys and one underground storey. “Latarnia” is a tower block with a square-like layout plan, and the “Port” layout plan resembles the letter L. The two parts of the building were erected on a common base, i.e. the garage storey and the storey with service spaces.

In this building, which has a commercial and service ground floor, the garage floor was designed to be in the underground storey and partly on the ground floor (including tenants' units and bicycle boxes). In the storeys from the first to seventh floors, there are residential units with variety of areas. On “Latarnia's” last storey, there are suites with mezzanines.

The unique character of the building at Okrzei 2 is emphasised by its façade, which combines the modern architectural form with traditional materials. The façade of “Latarnia” is made of elegant brown clinker tiles, and the façade of “Port” consists of a ventilated sandstone cladding, accompanied by aluminium profiles painted in white. The façade is complemented with frontal panels imitating wood and glass railings. The building is fitted with high-quality windows - wooden in the “Port” section, and aluminium with oak inlays in the “Latarnia” section.

The building is designed as a reinforced concrete slab and pillar construction. The sections separated by expansion joints are spatially rigid, owing to staircase shafts running from the foundations to the slab roof. The understructure comprises a directly laid foundation slab. In the staircases, an acoustic insulation system has been installed. The balcony slabs were installed using thermal-insulation fasteners.

The footprint area is 1,997.78 m2, the usable area 10,024.45 m2, and the volume of the building 41,093.92 m3.

The construction was entered in the competition by Port Praski Spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością, S.K.A., (the investor) and Unibep SA (the general contractor) .
